The joy of hiking in the mountains is relived when I create art based on the scenes I have come across out of doors. While the base layer of my tapestries is painted broadly with acrylics, the stitching is meticulous because I’m working with only one “brush,” the needle. It is a combination of loose and detailed applications, which allows for impulsiveness followed by close attention. Each tapestry usually has 14 or more thread colors which combine with the underlying paint ro provide depth and texture.
